The alligators are quite small, and seem quite content to bite each other, rather than me. In fact I may try to turn a couple into pets. I have a preference for the 44 Remington Magnum with a 180 grain pill, but think a water pistol will suffice in this case.

Go for the .45 if you have to carry, there's nothing like a big hole to stare down the potential threatinators.
A .357 is also nice if you can stand the blast, it tends to scare the shit out of bystanders and cause everyone to get down. They'll probably try to sell you a.38.
