Hi Steve....

I'd be happy to pitch in.... I know we all chat about the state of our profession and seemingly general demise of all things of engineering; the profession, the money (!?), lack of protocol and tact, and the difficulty of incorporating technology into our work. But, for me, being an engineer is all that I aspire to and that (in my own small world....) it is a calling no less elegant than being a doctor or a lawyer (oh oh.... that's button that gets pushed every once in a while on this board...). Anyway, I enjoy hearing from you guys about your perspectives and it is interesting to find out how often they can relate to the rest of us.... I really enjoy hearing about your work and am continually amazed at the breath and depth of what you do.... it humbles most of us.

I hope that all the members appreciate the contributions that you and the other professionals make to our group and that they will provide thoughtful comments and questions for us to stew about. I know that I sometimes share everyone's annoyance when we get a one liner "how does a pump work?" question...but I hope we have enough patience to know that over time everyone gets the benefit of the experienced engineers and designers who contribute to our discussions. (thanks Paul for making this available to us all....)

time to get off the soap box (what...my time is over already!?).... sorry about being too sappy here....I live in California.....can't help it...

Jack

   Hi Jack

I am expecting to do some work on a small WWTP upgrade in a few months,    so would appreciate a little help with my silly questions in a few    months or so. All I know about WW is to remember to put the seat back    down, so should be fun.

   Cheers

   Steve
