sajit
under the valve spec for Scouring coke it just says Valves Check, piston type axial flow, cl800 Sw horiz A182-F347H, B8m 347 SS/.Stel trim, cat1.

there are being used in hot service hence the 347,

WE've been using them for years in bitumen VTB and around the coker, but at higher temps.
i cant say for lower temp other than everything starts up an shuts down.

Also used in batch plants with 2 runs per week, starts up and cools down.

What you say is true , they can plug , but so can all valves in this service

What their spec. What does it have that s so different. We know ball valves are no good at all.
knife gates much better than wedge gates

cheers
