Bentley's MicroStation is a product which competes with autodesk's AutoCAD
product. Bentley's AutoPLANT is a product that runs with AutoCAD. Bentley's
ambition is to develop tools to help the designer. If that includes the CAD
application, great. What's so odd about this Paul? I guess its a bit like MS
Word running on the Apple McIntosh OS. For the record, the only way Autodesk
could drop support for the Rebis code to to abandon all other ARX developers
too. Doesnt sound like a good business decision to me. Bentley will contiunue to
develop and support AutoPLANT which is the largest selling AutoCAD 3D Design
system in the world.
Yes, I meant to say Bentley, sorry. Wouldn't a better analogy be Apple buying Adobe Premiere Pro (which is Windows only) while it already has Final Cut Pro (which is Mac only)?
