That was an interesting and insightful comment. Piping is not always for an exotic, sexy fluid like cool liquid hydrogen. Often it means basic infrastructure for a society.
This is why helping the "third world" is important - we (in the western world) have a moral resposibility to share what we know.
Ignoring the Asian dragons and the existing Russian influence will only hurt us in the long run - this phenomenon seems to me be prety obvious.
The world is going to change drastically (but for the better) due to the internet. I guess we have the Americans to thank for that bit of social development, although many countries are following their lead.
