Hi Barry
Use steel pipe. Screwed pipe is fairly cheap assuming the pressure isnt
too high for it.
Too hot for the cheaper plastics, and you need to be extra careful using
plastic pipe with compressed gas
. The majority of the cost will be in the installation hours, not the
materials as it looks like a small fiddly job.
Cheers
Steve.

Guys, here's a question from a visitor to the site.
The image mentioned below has been uploaded to http://www.pipingdesign.com/drawings/comp_dwg.jpg
What is the pressure?
Paul
Hello there,
I was wondering if you could help me out with an NVQ project -
I have a design idea (see attached picture if you like) which involves
a ring main tapped off from the outlet of a screw type air compressor in
an acoustic enclosure, through a timer-operated solenoid valve. The idea
behind this is that it will regularly blast out the built up dust from the radiator fins.
BUT- and this is where I was wondering if you could help- I'm not sure
what type of pipework is most suitable for this application. The air
from the compressor will be fairly hot, up to around 70-80 degrees C,
but the pipework will only be used for a few seconds at a time. Is
plastic pipework ok for this? I'm after the easiest to fabricate and
install that will be effective for the job. I hope you were the right
people to ask!
Thanks
