Gents + 2
Last week I put in a mill feedwater system. It is fed from an existing shaky process warer supply. Oversized as per my usual practice, but am having severe (zero to 80 m^3/h) flow fluctuations. The fluctuations are real because I can see where the water comes out.
System is:
Tap into existing horiz 150NB pipe (end of line), vertical.
Up 150mm to 150NB isol butterfly valve
Up 150mm to 150X100 reducer.
Up 1000mm to 100NB butterfly control valve
Up 1400m to diaphragm 100NB manual regulating valve
Up 200mm to 100X150 reducer
Up 200mm to vert/horiz elbow
Across 3m to magflow.
Up 300m through offset
Across 1.5m to elbow
Across 1.5m to exit
out the end.
Checked pressure at inlet and it stays within 5%
Looked at outlet flow and its all over the place, confirmed by
Magflow. Control valve is software locked so no control generated
stability problems.
There is a 100NB branch off the same line drawing 60m^3/h and its
discharge is steady so its not a supply issue.
Suspect the guts of the diaphragm valve is loose, and have asked it
to be pulled out and checked. Also the control valve just to be sure.
Never had such a problem with such a simple system before.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Steve
