Hi Robin
yes I spend a lot of time at the "graveyard"; the valve had a perfect body but a frozen handwheel. A new bonnet assembly was fitted so I wasnât expecting problems.
The control valve may have a problem, but I doubt it. Can see the positioner feedback linkage but not the valve spindle. Had a similar problem on an acid plant where the key connecting spindle to actuator was too short; everything looked fine from the outside; the actuator and positioner moved but the hidden valve spindle didnât.
No I didnât flush the system as its short and open end; would expect the kiwis to shoot straight out. Perhaps theres a tuatara or two up there as well.
Yep, itâs a magflow; a 150NB Yokogawa with remote head. Its reading crap
at the moment because its seeing crap. Will be fine once we sort out
this flow thing.
Will keep you posted.
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
Have you been using scrounged gear from the reject bin again?
Like you I would be looking at the diaphragm valve after ensuring that there is no random floating object moving around in your system as indicated by others.
The process valve you speak of (and is locked) will likely have an external position indicator; you have found nothing obviously wrong here?
Did you flush the system prior to commissioning to rid the pipe of excess Kiwi's?
We all would be interested in your findings.
Cheers,
Robin
P.S. The magflow you speak of, this is the meter you were enquiring about on previous postings? Is it serving your purpose?
Cheers,
Robin
