You're right, but I'll bet that most people don't have Voloview (or any other CAD-viewing software) already installed on their computer. Probably 90% of internet users have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed though and are thus able to view PDFs.
I'm sure that your isometric is informative and interesting, but I'm not going to spend 15+ minutes downloading and configuring software (possibly requiring a reboot) that I will likely need only once. Consider that I'm quite the computer geek and very familiar with software and file formats - most people are not so nerdly and will just shrug their shoulders and ignore the file.
