Initial cost for electrical heat tracing will be higher than steam
tracing. If you have steam in the plant then definitely steam tracing
will be better option. However if you have cheap electricity then can
think of electrical heat tracing. But I have doubt on this because you
get electricity from steam where conversion efficiency is below 50%. And
in steam tracing we use low quality steam only.
