I always contact the vendor (local rep). They will provide pricing over the phone or by e-mail. Get to know them - they can provide a lot of help at crucial points. Any listed price is unlikely to be firm, there are always discounts for multiple units, upcharges for added features, etc. If you are looking for estimate quality prices, buy a set of Means or other pricing/estimating guides - they are very useful. Do not go strictly by lowest bid, unless you really have a good feel for exactly what you need and spec to that detail.
