"Pipe class" may be simply the same as "flange class rating" (i.e., Class
150, class 300, etc.). Also, "pipe class" or "piping line class" could refer
to a piping specification name. The most common spec names indicate material
and flange class rating. (Example: C150 might be carbon steel with class 150
flanges). Some organizations put much more information into a specification
name.
