Dear Washoo
pipe class is a document which contains the compatible pipe and the piping
components that are to be used under a specific pressure ,temperature
condition
,and the service to which they have to cater. it also contains the material
specification, type ,rating , dimensional standard of all these items. It
also gives u the pipe shedule to be used...it serves as the basic guiding
document for the designers. generally piping softwares have database
options based onthese pipe classes.
while pipe shedule is only a standard thickness for the pipes that are available in market. once we have calculated the pipe thick nesss required for design conditons, we stadardise the pipe thickness by assigning them the shedule available in the standard...for ex ASME B 31.3
