everybrand Fig 295 hgr good to 750F ++alloy to 1050F . some brands go slightly higher.

whats wrong with steel on steel? it only gets tricky on high temp supports
>1200F such as for high press high temp steam and other specialty high temp
stuff.

if you need low friction use polished ss wear / slider plates for really hi temp.

Any one have experience in steam plants or such - teflon or other materials for lining clamps, or what? I can try insulating pipe, but then I can't get a good solid retainer/anchor.
