For selection of length of the barrel for pig receiver you have to be very careful . You should get the necessary information from the concerned operations deptt as to different types of pigs they may be using like cleaning pig, batching pig and calliper pig , etc . Than take stadard data from the vendors catalogue about the maximum length of available pig . The length of the barrel for receiver should be atleast 1.5 times the length of the largest pig to be handled.
