Good talk Geoff! I look forward to the implementation of such a code in
this forum.
Cheers and Regards,

Message to the Moderators & those who got upset and some pointers to asking a question
Is it possible to have a Code of Conduct that is accepted by newbies.? In it could contain a few pointers on the types of questions that may be put and the professional manner on how they should be phrased?
I do feel for those guys out there who have English as a second language. If however they cant ask a question in a concise way they are not going to be able to understand the answer. Thus as a guide they could do some research of the web to get the key words. Reference to Codes may be a problem as they are very expensive and some companies do not keep them at every site.
We also have the cultural thing about losing face. As a bold face Aussie I dont mind saying a stupid thing or two if it flushes out the answer. But this isnt the way in many other countries. Fear of losing face may make some shy, but we ar not a baby sitting service. In order to help we need to know the real problem. This topic could have been started thus:
" My problem is I have been asked to do a branch nozzle calculation. I dont have access to Codes here so need to pointed to a website or technical paper so I can learn how to do it. My calculations will be checked by a competent engineer..."
This tells the Forum your problem(s) and the limitations you have. Also it gives more experienced members confidence that you are not rushing headlong into engineering something for the first time that may end in disaster.
Humility is the bye word of the day. Better to appear stupid for five minutes by asking a reasoned question for help than be ignorant for the rest of your life! We all had to start somewhere.

As for who is right and who is wrong I suggest a free and open forum means just that. If you look at any other engineering forums on the web today you will see the same stuff going on that goes on here.
If Chris wants to be droll then let him if you want to be peeved by his drollness thats okay as well.
Homo Sapiens is a divers group with lots of behaviours yet we are all the same species...
And if anybody wants to complain well they get what they paid for... tough luck!
One Homo Sapiens opinion....
a memorable quote from another forum when I told the person to do some independent study... "I got smarter by reading manulas. They are huge!" So hugeness somehow becomes my problem LOL!
