As the person who wrote "BraNch CalCulaTion " Query, firstly I neglected Christopher Wright's answer, because I presumed that he might have had a bad day! And I could handle it
But now that it's become controversial, I have to shed some lights on the query and aftermaths:
Firstly:
I know well that 304.3 of ASME B31.3 has formula and examples for branch
calculation.
All I meant in the query was to find a rule of thumb or criteria for
creation of a branch table which is provided for every class in the PMS.
Or alternatively any experience some one might have in this regard.
HOWEVER, I admit that my question was not clear enough.
Secondly, I used casual literature in my query,
Mr wright, don’t be surprised
With seeing "tell me every thing…." !
I have seen quite a few of queries with very informal phrases in this forum,
If you keep the track, you will find emails containing words from
personal issues such as being bored with life, work, employers and,…EVEN
from experienced and professional engineers.
Thirdly and the most awful part is responses and attitudes toward this query!
If such a superficial matter makes you to lose your temper, how you can deal with all problems and interactions at work!?
Person who is sensitive for professional level of the forum and blame others for stating "tell me every thing…" doesn't know that using words such as: lazy, what the hell, fool, joker and,….are not professional and formal words!!!?
Dear Mr wright, however English is not my native language but I know heaps of words like you used, and I could use them in return.
The thing that stops me is my LITTLE experience in engineering field which tells me to talk technically with technical persons. Sometimes years passing just make people aged and not experienced from life!
I know that such interactions usually happen in engineering field like piping, and it's not a high school which one gets easily upset confronting such attitudes. Yes it's not bed of roses!
But it can't justify that we say and do everything just because work atmosphere is robust. There are certain frameworks and limits, and of course COURTESY is the most important of them!
Unlike what Mr wright perceived , users like ELIE ALTAWIL Replied to the query few days ago in a polite and modest manner. As you see ,prejudice are not always working!
And thanks to jack Osborne and his supporters. Not just for opposing Mr wright, but also for feeling responsibility against atmosphere of the forum.
And dear Geoff Stone DD&D , your alternative essay is excellent but don’t you think you need to take a look at your former email (containing FOOLS and such words) and edit it first?
All in all, I did'nt drop these lines to upset any one. I worte these lines to PUT AN END to this matter and clarify some pints as the person who originated the debate.
Mr wright is respected for his outstanding experience.
I hope that none of us will ever do anything that people can't feel free to ask
Their question cause " THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS FORUM IS LEARNING AND BEING LEARNED FROM OTHERS" Cheers Received on Wed Aug 31 18:46:00 2005
