Why. Users can go to www.pipingdesign.com. Most links and answers are there
already. Its just laziness that has people firing off ill conceived questions.
If they would only do their home wrk first they could ask decent questions.
If a topic yields a good lead such as a website or paper it is soon added to the above website.

As I grew (and grow) in my career I have worked with many individuals some like Chris Wright and some like Jack Osborn - I would rather work with the Chris Wright's any day - yes they are blunt, maybe even inappropriate at times but I have appreciated their guidance and I don't ever think any offense was truly intended - more likely just a message like "sit your lazy ass down and do some research" - point taken - engineering is all about learning - continuous learning. There is no excuse for emails that begin with "tell me everything" - the people writing them are LAZY and INCOMPETENT. However we all start out as incompetent engineers - so I guess it is our job to be supportive.
I am really taking offense to Mr. Osborn's continued harassment of Mr. Wright - you had your say now let it go - VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
As for how to deal with the question of these "tell me everything emails" - I would like to suggest that maybe we could compile an email which could be a blanket response to messages which are too vague to answer effectively. It could take the form of:
