Sure some of the piping component can be re-used but in most cases I wont especially for the piping components that have been exposed in severe service or showed some sign of deterioration. Take the example of a pipe header in which the nozzle has to be replaced. The replacement nozzle was a leftover material from a previous job (say with an olet fitting). Size and material OK and all it needs is a lilltle weld prep. Fitup the "salvaged" material to the pipe and after a short period of operation, started leaking. Get worse by the day and after a week left with no option but to shut down the unit. Olet require a lot of weld deposit which may "cook" the existing process piping. Get worse if pwht is needed and worse if the remaining thickness is at its lowest minimum.
