Ypu are cetainly correct in that something is not right.
Aboveground large diameter PE will ovalise if exposed to high temperatures. The material will not remain round. The supports would be a nightmare.
I have seen the material run aboveground in Western Australian mines. That is continuous support from the dirt. The thermal expansion is taken up by the pipeline snaking around.
If the pipe breaks they just go and fix it up. thats is if they have a welding machine on site. But the person who posed the original question hasnt stated a size yet! Just wanted to know the largest available. If you have the money and want a swag of the stuff someone will make a die head and sizing ring and extrude it for you. How you weld it may present some problems but.
