as a military brat.....I salute you! I see a lot of that entitlement mentality around me....."Earned, never given".......reminds me of what I see as the thread that establishes relationships; trust and confidence. Trust that you (metaphorically) won't brow beat me into submission when I ask for help, confidence that you'll be there to help and vice versa. That I be there for you. As that interchange begins, respect and credibility rise up. You begin to believe in me.....and I begin to believe in you. It's a slow process.....like watching a tree grow.... Some are redwoods, like you, some are willows, like me (smile).
