Good idea.
Solving pipe thickness don't require complicated software but only needs the following data:

  1. What is the design pressure?
  2. What is the operating temperature?
  3. What is the ID of the pipe you intend to use?
  4. What fluid will pass through your pipe

After all of this has been gathered, there are so many books with applicable graphs,tables with material specifications.

Solve the thickness, t = IDp/2S where: ID=pipe inside diameter, p=design pressure, S=allowable material stress at a certain temperature.

It is better to know the temperature specially for steam piping to attain the right material and to interpolate the material stress against temperature.
