Two reasons. Excel does the job extremely well, and the link to MS Word makes report composition a piece of cake. I like the appearance of a Wod document better than a MathCAD sheet. Doing the arithmetic column by column also seems more natural and compact than sheet by sheet. Excel has all the math needed for Section VIII. Second reason is that I hate MathCAD with all my heart and soul for putting out such a crappy Mac port and refusing to support it. I'll dance naked down Hennepin Avenue in the middle of January singing 'MathCAD to the wall,' before I'll consider buying a Mathsoft product ever again.
