Gidday Geoff

You forgot to mention Vegemite.
Prefer you didn't tell all and sundry how easy we have it down here. They might all decide to come, and bring their codes and regulations with them....
Honestly, you other guys wouldn't like it here; flies everywhere, cane toads in the swimming pools, thin beer, sand in the sandwiches, and all the piping is made out of exhaust tube or beer cans tig welded together. Where I live it is cold all the time and we live in constant fear of being bungy jumped on, run over by a jet boat or attacked by a herd of tuataras.

Geoff, I would like to try a test. Could you calculate the burst pressure and failure mode of a can of Fosters? I will test a can to destruction (after drinking the contents) and we can compare notes. You may have to analyse from first principles, as I don't think there is an applicable code.

I saw a joke today that I liked but really shouldn't copy it to this forum. Here it is:

Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: None. There is nothing wrong with the light bulb. Its conditions are improving every day. Any reports of its lack of incandescence are a delusional spin from the liberal media. That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say undermines the lighting effect. Why do you hate freedom?

Cheers

Steve

Paul,

Nothing is that easy. Australia is a vast continent with two major cities in Sydney and Melbourne. The engineering centres for petrochem are now in Brisbane and Perth. Many overseas companies like Fluor Daniel and Kvaerner have brought their standards and traditions with them. Others have used local initiatives and gone their own way.

You will find pockets of these products scattered around the country. Some doing 2D and some 3D. Some are using Autocad Light or old editons of the Autocad software to get by.

When a contract insists on a package a design house or consultant might start from scratch, hiring guns as necessary with no thought of just getting a job done. Some consultants might develop an application using a high end product, the job e Received on Thu Sep 29 04:59:00 2005
