Dear Hitesh,

Pls find enclosed point wise reply for your query.

  1. Not only Caesar , CAEPIPE is also does not support rectangulr profile for stress analysis
  2. using the above said software it is not possible.
  3. Exact modelling of stiffner is not possible using pipe stress analysis software , but the same can be done by entering combined stiffness ( effective stiffness of pipe & stiffner)

U can use ANSYS thermal design module for modelling gas duct. In one of the projects we had used it to design Chimeny of temp 900 C , 26 Mts dia & 250 Mts height.

We want to carry out Piping Flexibility Analysis for High Temperature Gas
Ducting ( Rectangular / Oval ) for one of the ongoing project. The queries related to the stress analysis of the same are listed below :

Query 1 : Does Caesar II have facility to model rectangular / oval ducting carrying high temperature Gas in the range of 600 Deg C ?

Query 2 : We are also interested to find out various stresses developed in the ducting.

Query 3 : Regarding Stiffener modelling for circular / rectangular piping, Sometimes external pressure calls for stiffener requirement externally on the piping. Does Caesar II have facility to model exact geometry for stiffener around piping ?

We shall be grateful if anyone could kindly advice us in this regard as to how to proceed with this type of analysis & what could be the solution for these problems.
