Emre,

There are many equations to size the Air piping..

Here is one
Pressure drop in bar = (KLQ2)/(R*d5,3)
Where

K = 800
L = Length of pipe in metres
Q = The volume of free air in dm3/s passing through the pipe.
R = The ratio of compression at the beginning of the pipe (Check your blower
data to find air exit property)
d = The internal pipe diameter in mm

This is from SPIRAX SARCO.
dm^3/s is Cubic decimeters per second
Calculate yourself to find "Q"

Hello every body,

I have a problem, and need some help. i tought maybe someone in this group can help me.

In a tankership there are dn250 (10") pipelines from manifold to tanks sized to convey fuel. Now i need to blow warm air to tanks using the same pipeline. For this purpose we will buy a 30000 m^3/h 1500 pascal capacity warm air fan. the fuel lines have connection to a 1000x1000mm ventilation duct manifold as seen in the figure attached to this e-mail.

I want to calculate the pressure drop in the dn250 pipeline. But for calculating this i know that a dn250 pipeline can not transfer 30000 m^3/h. So i can not define the velocity parameter in the pressure drop formula. How much air can be transferred through a dn250 pipe line under 1500 pascal static pressure. Can anyone help me?
