RES: Ejector design standards

Ken,

         The HEI (Heat Exchanger Institute) has a detailed standard for Steam Jet ejector design and assessing for Vacuum Systems. However the standard is for vacuum systems applications, the theory, equations and graphics can be extended for any application. The Graham (www.graham-mfg.com/ <http://www.graham-mfg.com/> ) and Croll Reynols (http://www.croll.com/_website/pr/vachome.asp) manufacturers have goods free software for design of steam jet ejectors. But I agree with Ed, the best way is contacting a manufacturer. However, is important to understand the theory behind of the ejector operation for solution of future problems.

Ken,

Eductors are usually used for Process Applications and as such are not covered by Codes.
Your best bet is to contact the manufacturers.

Google "eductors" and you'll get whatever you need.

Does anybody know of a standard for design of ejectors (also known as eductors). Surely
there is an ASME, ANSI, HEI, ISO, or other standard out there, but I've been unable to
find it. I don't want one for operation or record-keeping, but rather something with
equations for flows, pressures, diameters, etc for design. Thanks,
