Difficult to apply in a working plant.

Piping vibration can be measured in real time. Several readings can be made for the velocity and the frequency. Flow and other physical properties of the pipe can now be measured. Charts are available giving info related to severity for several piping layout configuration. Pipe stress softwares are also available.

With all of these, do Dr. K T Truong has an updated version of his previous writing. Several article has already appeared in several tech mags related to the above subject - using a much simpler approach and using hard data taken from field.

EDI for one is active in these areas and so does SwRI. But i pretty much like the approach taken by the engineers from India. If anybody is working on piping vibration, post your problem and probably others can help.
