Hi friends,

The allowable dispplacement stress range for a piping sysytem is

Sa = f(1.25*Sc + 0.25Sh)
where Sc= cold stress

       Sh= Hot stress.

my question is how the factors 1.25, and 0.25 came in to picture in that equation? is there any significance for those coefficients? if any one knows the answer, please mail me.
