Code stress

Hi,

For non metallic pipes (GRP) according to the UKOOA Code the code stress check is not processed for the load case expansion, only sustained load case and operational load case(Caesar II). For metallic pipe according to B31.3 or B31.1 the code stress check is not processed for the operational case, but for the sustained load case and the expansion load case.
What is the reason for that?
