Often a gibault/flanged end fitting is used adjacent to the valve. The
fitting is epoxy coated for corrosion resistance. The flange can be
unbolted and the compression type fitting slid back to allow removal
of the valve.

Wafer LUG type butterfly valve between flanges. and if you need to
remove valve, you can insert spool in between two flanges and continue
without any cutting or modification. Its simple. I think you must
consult with your vendor of GRE pipe. And hopefully this all
information will be available in vendor manual of installation and
repairing. Your can search future pipe industries website for such
type of information.

Valve only. Now the issue is that being underground lines, to remove a
valve for some reasons, the only way is to cut the line and in later
stage laminate the GRE line which takes long for the draining, curing
etc. and it doesn't seem to be a standard practice. But as far as the
information available, most of the lines are installed without
considering this factor of valve removal. The valves used are KSB valves.

lined valves are normally Butterfly type valves and there is no need
of gasket for lined valves. Because rubber lined material act as
sealing. You can ask to your vendor for better recommendations. I
would advise to use Wafer LUG Type Valves if you are using butterfly
type valves. And If you are using gate or globe valves there would be
no special requirements.

you can also get guide from vendor documents.

installed in the GRE buried lines of DN 100 to DN 400. The concern is
regarding the removal of valves for repair in future. Enough gap can
not be achieved in the above case. What is the usual practice followed
in such pipe line installation cases ?
