Cold box piping (for cryogenic distillation) is similar since the columns, exchangers, piping and valves must all fit into a shop-built unit and be shipped intact by schnabel. Very large ones *can* be built onsite, but it's a pain to do.

In the small picture at <http://www.pipingdesign.com/O2plant.html> you can see a main column box (white rectangular structure in the background) and an exchanger box to the left (almost totally obscured behind the right-most building).

I'll try to dig up a better photo or a drawing and put it up at the website.
